Moniz honored with the Eisenhower Medal

The American Nuclear Society honored Ernest Moniz, CEO of EFI and the Nuclear Threat Initiative, with the Dwight D. Eisenhower Medal on December 1, 2021. Symbolized by an engraved bronze medal and established in 2014 by the Nuclear Nonproliferation Policy Division, this prestigious award recognizes excellent leadership in public policy related to nuclear science and technology. It is named after the late President Dwight D. Eisenhower, who played a pivotal role in developing the nuclear age.

The American Nuclear Society selected Moniz as this year’s recipient in recognition of his work supporting the development of clean energy sources and global nonproliferation efforts to reduce nuclear threat. He was presented the award during the 2021 American Nuclear Society Winter Meeting in Washington, D.C.
